RIPLEY - Wayne Childers, 65, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Tippah County Hospital. He was born to William Otis and Lydia McCollum Childers on Oct. 6, 1945, in Brownsfield. He was a retired, self-employed used car salesman. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley with Bro. Randy Hamilton and Bro. Chris Lewellen officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. McBride Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, JoAnne Luna Childers of Ripley; one daughter, Kathy Childers Bruce (Gary) of Ripley; one son, Charles Childers (Ambra) of Ripley; five grandchildren, Parrish, Tucker and C.J. Childers, and Brittany and Elizabeth Bruce, all of Ripley; two sisters, Lila Moore and Dorris Box (Hershel), both of Falkner; and one brother, Frank Childers (Shirley) of Nettleton. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Roger Rowland, Rodney Rowland, Steve Rowland, Haston Cross, Michael Moffitt, Randy Byrd, Brian Ward and Rod Colom. Honorary pallbearers will be Jermaine "Rosco" Storey, Jerry Sanderson, Boyd Goodnight, Mac Ethridge, Harry Ward, Audrey "Bootsie" Box, Barney Lyles, Robert Farrow and Scott Maxey.
