Dolores "Dee" Apperson Aaron, 67, of 309 Berry Road, Callands, died at her residence Friday, Jan. 8, 2010. Born Jan. 2, 1943, in Alexandria, she was the daughter of the late Lillian Florence Apperson and the late Samuel Lee Apperson. She was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and was employed as a baby photographer. She was married to William "Corky" Aaron, who preceded her in death April 21, 1997.

"Dee" is survived by a daughter, Karen L. Plum, of Callands; a son, Michael Penn, of Woodbridge; two brothers, John Apperson and wife, Linda, of Woodbridge, and Samuel Apperson and wife, Alysha, of Manteo, N.C.; six grandchildren, Tricia Siebert, of Callands, Tracie Crabtree, of Missoula, Mont., Matthew Plum and MaKenna Plum, both of Callands, and Kelli and Brittney Penn; and six great-grandchildren. She also is survived by several nieces and nephews and two special nieces, Jeannette and Samantha.

In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Jimmy Apperson and Willie Apperson.

A memorial service will be held at Hollywood Baptist Church at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, with the Rev. Terry St. John officiating.

The family extends a special thanks to Pat Hensely and Liberty Hospice and to Romar Med Equip. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Callands Fire and Rescue, 11741 Callands Road, Callands, VA 24530 or to the Hollywood Baptist Church Building Fund, 6405 Callands Road, Chatham, VA 24531.
