She died on December 21, 1918, two days after her sister Pauline's birthday. Her father William Ervan Comstock died Dec 1 1918, her mother Mary Rose Wolf Comstock died on Dec 2, 1918; maternal grandmother Adora Ellen Wilson Wolf died Dec 5 1918; her uncle Walter Altrie Houser died on Dec 5 1918; cousin Mark Altrie Houser died Dec 5 1918, her maternal grandfather George Gibson Wolf died Dec 9 1918. They all died from the flu epedimic of 1918. Her sisters, Pauline Hope Comstock, Mildred Elaine Comstock and Margaret Rose Comstock went to live with their paternal grandparents, Elonzo Ervan Comstock and Nancy Jane Davis Comstock. Her sisters were not allowed to go to the funerals, as it was assumed that one could catch the flu even from someone who was dead. The two oldest girls, Pauline and Mildred, watched from the church door at their mother's funeral.
