Jori Kyler Joseph Lirette, 7, was a second-grade student at South Thibodaux Elementary School. He enjoyed cherry lollipops, root beer, ice cream and chocolate-chip cookies. He also loved bright colors and all kinds of animals. He was wheelchair bound due to Cerebral Palsy.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Lloyd and Dolores Poche' of Thibodaux.
A candlelight vigil was held in Peltier Park in Thibodaux.
A funeral service was held August 23, 2011 at St. Genevieve Church in Thibodaux where hundreds gathered to say their final goodbyes to Jori. He was buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Thibodaux, LA in an above ground crypt with the the epitaph "No words, just a smile" next to his grandmother and great-grandparents.
