Pvt. William H. Wilkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Wilkins, formerly of near Sunbury, was killed in action in Italy on November 16, according to a telegram to his parents from the War Department. Before entering the Army three years ago, Pvt. Wilkins had lived all his life in Gates county, farming with his father. Mr. and Mrs. Wilkins moved to near Chuckatuck, Va., this year. Until five years ago the family had lived on the C. H. Carter farm, later moving to near Sunbury and then to Virginia. He was a grandson of Mrs. Martha Greene of Sunbury. Besides his parents he is survived by seven brothers, and two sisters. One brother, Willie Wilkins, is with the Army in California.
