David Kimbrell was born Jan. 29, 1809 in North Carolina. He first married Rebecca Lawson abt. 1828/1830 Marengo Co., Alabama, she was born abt. 1811, and died bef. 1869 in Oktibbeha Co., Mississippi. She was probably buried at Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, in Webster Co., Miss.! David & Rebecca had five children, one son was Reuben Kimbrell, he and most of his family were buried at Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, near Cumberland, Miss. David married second to Sarah Ann Elizabeth (Palmer) Cook Apr. 20, 1869 in Oktibbeha Co., Miss., they had five known children. Sarah was born June 3, 1838 in S. C., and died Jan. 23, 1905 in Athens, Henderson Co., Texas. Sarah was first married to William Cook, and they had two known son's; Joseph, & William Cook. Sarah and her son Harvey Richard Kimbrell moved to Athens, Texas, shortly after David died Oct. 4, 1884, at Adaton, Oktibbeha County, Mississippi. David Kimbrell was claimed to be a brother of Isham, and James T. Kimbrell. They all were listed living in Choctaw Co., Miss. on the 1860 Census. Isham Kimbrell was living in Chickasaw County, Mississippi as early as 1846, from his land records.
