Mr. Dick was a native of Sandbank, Argyleshlre, Scotland. He had lived at the Clinton residence for the past sixteen years. Soft-spoken, quiet and unassuming, Mr. Dick always had a good word for everyone. He made a wonderful neighbor.. He loved the beautiful yard of flowers and shrubbery that he and his wife created into a showplace of bloom. ,He loved their pets, and was particularly bev loved by all children who frequented their home. Mr. Dick wus superintendent of construction at Cheltenham Naval -Radio Station and at Dahlgren for many years. Surviving are wife, the former Mrs. Myrtle Hay ward Alvord, and two step-children; Eugene Hayward Alvord, U.S.N., of Yorktown, Virginia, and Mrs. Louise Alvord Thomson, of Clinton. Funeral services were held at the Christ Episcopal Church at Clinton on Saturday, February 20, at 2 p. m. with the Reverend Paul Stoutsenbetger officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were associates from liis office: Commander Frank Duncan, Lieutenant John Mutchler, William Jenkins. Jr., Arnold Barnett, Lloyd C. Barnett, Jr., and Edwin Taliaferro.Marlboro (Md.)
