Myrtle Anna Howard, 97, Marthasville, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2004, at St. John's Mercy Hospital, Washington.
Mrs. Howard, the daughter of William Benus and wife Emma, nee Mutert, was born Sept. 2, 1906, in Warren County. On Aug. 9, 1925, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Howard. Mrs. Howard was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild, Marthasville. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Howard was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Ricky; and two sisters, Elda Groeper and Viola Thomas.
She is survived by two sons, Wendell Howard and wife Naomi Ruth, Marthasville, and Billy Gene Howard and wife Carol, Washington; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren; 21 step-great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 4, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Marthasville, with the Rev. Donnamae Grannemann and the Rev. Ruth Rinne officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to St. Paul's United Church of Christ in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The Howard family was served by Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville.
