Thanks to my friend Steve for his kindness to little Joey. I appreciate the sponsorship, such a thoughtful thing to do. Thanks for the many special things you have treated Joey with, like mention on your website. That was so nice.
You also made the frame for him. Remember him so often with notes and flowers. Thanks lots, Big hugs....friend.
In Memory of:
Joey Barnard.
1943-1954
Loved and Missed
My Third Cousin
(Gillespie)
Joey was the son of Ralph Barnard and Gladys Gillespie- Barnard.
Joey was born a Down Syndrome baby. He wasn't expected to live very long. He beat the odds and lived to be 11 years old. He was a happy child. He never attended public school. When he was older and he began to look more like a Downs Syndrome child, children would laugh at him and he would get very quite and sad. He understood he was different. His parents loved him so much and made his life as happy and normal as possible. After his death his parents adopted 4 special needs children, 3 girls and 1 boy. This shows their caring hearts. They were wonderful caring people to whom I am proud to be related.
