Mrs. Kittie M. Grimes, 80, widow of Richard Grimes, founder of Grimes Electric Co., died in the Santa Ana Rest home yesterday. She had been in ill health four years.
Native of Missouri, she had lived in Santa Ana since coming to California 26 years ago. Her home was at 920 S. Ross St.
She belonged to the First Presbyterian church.
In her memory Grimes Electric Co. will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
Mrs. Grimes is survived by three sons, Richard T. Grimes of Oakland, W. B. Grimes of Sacramento and Harold M. Grimes of Santa Ana, and one brother H. L. Thomas of Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Smith and Tuthill chapel. Dr. O. Scott McFarland, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate. Interment will be in Fairhaven cemetery.

On the 1880 census, undated, but enumerated about June 1880, her age is given as 13. The 1900 census gives her birth date as November 1868. With siblings born in 1865 and 1869, 1867 appears to be a more likely date for her birth.
