Margaret Josephine Fridley was born on 14 March 1942 in Denver, Colorado to George Charles Fridley and Mary Britt. She has one older sister, Rose Marie. On many occasions as an adult she would talk about how badly she was spoiled when little and how she felt bad for her big sister who wasn't as lucky.

As a young child she went into foster care and remained there until she was a young adult. Her foster parents were George and Myra Fieber. The Fiebers also had a son named Ronald who was like a brother to her. The Fiebers taught her many things as she matured including how to love others.

She attended Denver Schools growing up and graduated from East High School.

Margaret's first love was a difficult experience which ended poorly. She was left with a broken heart but a very special surprize when she gave birth to a daughter named Debbie. Margaret loved her with all her heart and was very close to her. But her heart always had room for more. Margaret married but again that was not meant to be and it ended in divorce.

In 1965 she lived next door to a family that were good friends named the Sheeran's. A young man named Wally Peterson was living with them after just returning from the Air Force. They fell in love and were married on 13 January 1967 in Denver, Colorado.Oddly enough they both went to East High School but did not know each other then.

Wally and Margaret soon had a baby boy that they named Roger. Wally attended Tech Institute for electronics training and then they moved to Washington state. They were poor but happy together. While living in Washington Margaret joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Two days after she joined the church they moved to Gustine, California and Margaret taught Sunday School. Nine months later they moved to Bakersfield, CA where they lived for 3 years. It was during this period that the family was sealed for time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple. While living in Bakersfield Margaret was involved in an auto accident that injured young Roger. He didn't seem too badly hurt but he was. It was here that Margaret grew close to Roger as she cared for him and helped him with his medical care and rehabilitation. She also helped him in Cub Scouts and he eventually became a Life Scout with her encouragement.

Wally's job took them to Louisiana and again Margaret taught Sunday School. This was a very small Branch that they were in that met in a 3 bedroom house. On good days her class met in a trailer in the back yard. On bad days they met in the bathroom and many time class was interrupted by someone needing to use the room more than they did.

Wally's work in the oil business took him to Flint,MI and to Midland, TX for short periods before moving back to Denver in 1973 to take a job with Nobel Sysco. And Margaret faithfully moved the family to where Wally found opportunity for work.

Margaret did a great deal of service for others, often cleaning homes, taking care of whatever needed to be done and just visiting someone who needed a little chearing up. Wally worked nights and slept in the mornings. Lots of times when he got up he would find that she had volunteered him to cut a lawn, shovel snow, repair something, or build something.

Wally and Margaret opened there home to many starting with an older gentleman who lost his wife and was having a hard time living by himself. They took care of him until he passed away and he had become like another grandfather to their children.

After fighting cancer Margaret was not able to have children but desperately wanted more. She and Wally went through adoption classes but because of their age were not able to adopt a baby. So instead of adopting, they became foster parents and had about 20 foster children over a 10 year period. This kept Margaret very busy as you can imagine. She was saddened and would often cry about what some of her foster children had been through.

One of the foster children was Antonio Barros who was about 3 when he came to them. He had been living with a minister who could not handle him and sent him on his way. When Antonio was 8 the rules for adoption changed and Wally and Margaret were able to adopt him. Antonio did not like his name so since he was changing his last name anyways he decided to change his first name as well. After looking through all of Wally's geneology (and there was a lot of it) he picked the name Gary Lee Peterson and this is the name he went by the rest of his life. Gary was later sealed to them in the Salt Lake Temple. With Margaret's motivation Gary became a life scout and a brown belt in karate. Margaret loved Gary and it was very hard on her when Gary passed away on 27 August 2005. The vale was thin between her and Gary for the remainder of her life.

In 1976 Margaret was diagnosed with MS which would forever change her life. In 1988 her MS took a turn for the worse after another auto accident. She now needed a walker to get around. In 1992 yet another auto accident worsened her condition and she was now dependant upon a wheelchair to get around. MS continued to deteriorate her body and she spent the last 4 years of her life bed ridden requiring total care by her family. Despite her condition, everyone who came to visit her generally found her in good spirits and with a smile on her face.

Margaret leaves behind her mother, sister Rosie, daughter Debbie, son Roger, 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 3 nephews and 4 nieces. She also leaves behind 2 of Debbie's best friends Melody and Bobbie, who were like sisters to her.

And above all she leaves behind her eternal companion, Wally. He cared for her every need right up to the end. He is an example to all of us what true Christ like love is all about. Because of the temple sealing they will be together for eternity.

On 11 September 2009 Margaret quietly and peacefully passed from this life to the next. I am sure that Gary was waiting to welcome her on the other side. Families can be together forever!
