B. H. Means was born abt 1834 and moved to Dallas in 1888.

He enlisted in Company K, 12th Louisiana Infantry, afterwards in the 12th Louisiana Cavalry and served until the end of the war.
His pension was signed by T.E. Crow and G.D. Brantly as witnesses that he served in the Confederate Army.
