At 17, Harry fell over 30 feet when a scaffold was pulled from under him while working at a building site, through badly injured, he recovered.
When 19, helped build the Guthrie High School, now the Junior High School located on East Oklahoma Avenue.
Also helped build, the largest in the world, Masonic Temple located in Guthrie.
In 1933, he bought his father's blacksmith ship where he worked until he retired in 1966.
He was known for his blacksmith and welding work as far away as Shreveport, Louisiana.
