"D" Co. TN 1st Infantry

Was 1 of 6 to surrender with Johnston at Greenboro, N.C. on April 26, 1865. Became a Livery Store Keeper after war and had 5 children. When he died his former comrades: James Cook, William Pollard, William Cunningham, and Robert Richardson all carried his coffin.

Enlisted at Franklin, TN May 9, 1861. Took the oath of allegiance as a POW at Nashville Nov, 15, 1864. Rejoined the command and was present at the surrender May 1, 1865.
