William Robert "Bill" Charon, 96, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Fayetteville Veterans Home.

He was born September 25, 1911 at Crestline, Ohio (raised in Okmulgee, Oklahoma), the son of Francis and Frances Crowe Charon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ethel Charon on January 23, 2008.

He was associated with Tulsa Paper Company for over 40 years and later with NAPCO for 20 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a World War II veteran of the U. S. Coast Guard.

He is survived by: Two daughters: Susan Wallace & her husband Doug of Fayetteville Marti Genge & her husband David of Fayetteville Two sisters: Ellen McAulay of Tulsa, OK Mary Towner of Tulsa, OK A brother: Jack Charon of Tulsa, OK Four grandchildren: Meredith Johnson & her husband Chris of North Little Rock Jay Stirewalt & his wife Stefanie of Frisco, TX Brittany Genge of Fayetteville A.
