Frank was manager of several Howell Lumber Co., locations in Nebraska. Including Holdrege, NE. it was in Holdrege where My Family got to know the Slemmons Family. Through The First Presbyterian Church and residing up the boulevard from my family home. In the years of 1940-1950 lots of people WALKED to work and downtown.

A funeral for Frank Taylor Slemmons, 87, of Scottsbluff, who died Thursday, July 27, 1978 in a Scottsbluff nursing home was at 10 a.m. Monday in Jolliffe Funeral Home with the Rev. E. Allen Magill officiating.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery at Scottsbluff.
A memorial has been established to the First United Presbyterian Church.
He was born March 18, 1891 at Dunbar and moved to Mitchell in 1906.
He served in the Army during World War I and in 1930 moved to Scottsbluff where he managed Carr-Neff Lumber Co. He moved to Holdrege in 1945 and returned to Scottsbluff upon retirement in 1958 to work as an appraiser.
He was a member of Scottsbluff United Presbyterian Church; member and past commander of American Legion Wright Irion Post 5; Member and past president of the Scottsbluff School Board; past president of the Scottsbluff Lions Club and a charter member of McKeown American Legion Post of Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife Anna A. of Scottsbluff; sons Matthew of Cheyenne and Frank Jr. of San Francisco; daughter Mrs. Mary S. Rose of Ainsworth; brother M.Garvin of Mitchell; a granddaughter and four grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
