Actress. Sister of actresses Viola Dana, Shirley Mason and wife of director/actor/writer Harold Shaw. She began her stage career as a child actress and after much training joined the Metropolitan Opera House as a premiere danseuse where she substituted for Anna Pavlova on several occasions. Edna was also a member of the Edison Company and became well-known as a silent film actress and was known for her fearlessness when called upon to perform feats which required unlimited courage. In the film "The Dam Builder", Edna swung across a deep ravine dangling from the end of a wire and climbed down the side of a dam; in the film, "Between Orton Junction and Fallonville", Edna galloped along a railroad track between two approaching trains, and in "The New Member of the Life Saving Crew", Edna floated out to sea on an overturned row boat. She was known as "all energy and vivacity, and possessed of a personality that seems to welcome obstacles and dangers". Flugrath appeared in 36 films.
