Phedyma was married to Cornelius Brooks who died in 1863 of disease after the battle of Yorktown.

Her Father was Ziba Bisbee with whom she is buried. Her mother was Cyrena Lincoln (1797-1860), both of her parents lineage goes back to arrival in Plymouth, Massachusetts in the 1600's.

Interment for Charles is unknown, presumably buried in Virginia.

They had the following children:

Minerva L BROOKS (1856-1951)

Her daughter in law Nellie H Brooks, wife of Charles Brooks, is interred in Walnut Cemetery in Wisconsin; Find A Grave Memorial #67356847. Her grandson Hiram W Brooks is also interred in this cemetery.

OBITUARY: Phedyma Bisbee, was born in Massassachusetts Aug. 30, 1827. Her foreparents were among the earliest settlers of that state coming to America in 1634 from England and making homes near the town of Situate. She was one of fifteen children, seven older and seven younger than herself. May 30, 1846 she ws married to Cornelius Brooks, in New York State. Four children were born of this union; Charles E. now of Minneapolis, Minn (the name Charles E is underlined in pen ) Frances Dl, now Mrs. Rodgers of Greenfield, Wis.; George D, who is supposed to have died in Utah several years ago; and Minerva L now Mrs. Hall of Baraboo, Wis. At an early age she became a member of the Christian church, uniting with the Baptists, and died in the faith.
Mr. Brooks and family moved from New York to Pennsylvannia, and in 1850 to Wyocena, Wisconsin. They returned to New York in 1860, where he enlisted in the 16th N.Y. battery, and died in Yorktown, Va, Sept. 29, 1863. Mrs. Brooks moved back to Wisconsin soon after her husband's death and has been a resident of the Sauk county since. Abouth twenty-five years ago she made her home in the city of Baraboo. During this period she visited Connecticut, California, Utah, Kansas and Arkansas. In her early years she became partially deaf, which caused her retirement from society and church associations. Her memory was good; she read largely, and was an exceptional woman in many respects for one of her years. Mrs. Brooks passed from the scenes of this world April 7, 1903, loved and respected; and kind friends and relatives laid her to rest in the family lot at Delton, Wisconsin.
The Next OBIT reads as follows: " The Dark Shadow Mrs. P. Brooks died last evening at six o'clock at her home, 419 Seventh Street. She has been ill for over a year with a tumerous growth. Deceased was seventy five years old and leaves three children: Chas. Brooks, Minneapolis; Mrs. Frances Rogers, Fairfield, and Mrs. Minerva Hall, Baraboo. Her husband was one of the victims of the civil war and gave up his life during the great struggle. Funeral held tomorrow at 11:00 o'clock at the residence, conducted by Rev. Dewing of the A.C. church.
