Doris Sidney Barry, 93, formerly of Donaldson and Fearnot, passed away peacefully Thursday at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Donaldson, July 16, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Annie Dinger Hepler.
A graduate of the former Frailey Township and Tremont high schools, she had worked at Gold Mill's, Pine Grove.
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Donaldson and attended Fearnot United Methodist Church.
Doris' life revolved around her family. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed, canning, quilting, crocheting, ceramics, embroidering and gardening.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband of 52 years, Guy Barry, in 1993; son-in-law, Robert Kimmel; a grandson and granddaughter, Jamie and Amanda Barry; siblings, Arthur, Betty, Freda, Harvey and Harlan.
She was the last survivor of her immediate family.
Surviving are 10 children, including four daughters, Lois Kimmel, Donaldson, Judy Schwartz (Robert), Gratz, Sidney "Sis" Hoffman (Paul), Lykens, and Betty Zernhelf (John), Tremont; six sons, Ronald Barry (Deborah), Virginia, Harvey Barry (Bonnie), Pine Grove, Richard Barry (Deborah), Valley View, William Barry (Sue), Tremont, Steve Barry (Suzie), Fearnot, and Randy Barry (Lisa), Reading; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home Inc., Tower City, with Pastor Annette Shutt officiating. Interment will be in Donaldson Community Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. until the time of the service in the chapel. Memorial donations in Doris' name can be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 2408A Park Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or Compassus Hospice, 10 Zions Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
