Mrs. Mary Ihnken(nee Ward) beloved wife of Mr. Louis Ihnken, died at her home on the Chicon at 1:00a.m. Thursday June 11, 1908 after a lingering illness. Mrs Ihnken was born in San Antonio, in December 1860. On the 21st day of September 1880 she was happily married to Mr. Louis Ihnken. Seven children was born of their union, five of who are living namely Gerard, Louis and Lee, Misses Alexis and Ida Ihnken.
The sudden death of this good woman brings to light this startling significance the natural fact how near while in life we all are to death. She was a good wife and lovable mother. A beautiful home is blighted and their case is a sad one which only God and time can assuage.
The remains were brought to Castroville and taken to the St. Louis Catholic Church, after which they were interred in the family burial ground Thursday afternoon. Rev. Father Kirch performed the last sad rites.
A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends followed the remains to their last resting place.
Card of Thanks. We adopt this means to express our sincere thanks to the many friends who so kindly assisted us in the illness of our beloved wife and mother. Also to those who sent floral and who attended the funeral.
