Stephen Burt Bramlett, 52 of Bartlett, TN passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 3, 2011 in Paris, TN. Steve was born on August 22, 1959 to Betty (Bradley) Bramlett and the late Burt Bramlett. Steve was a member of the Church of Christ. Steve was a graduate of Frayser High School where he played baseball and basketball. It was his great love of sports and of young people that inspired him to coach both baseball and basketball. He was a beloved coach for 21 years and had the joy of coaching both of his sons up until they reached high school. He also loved to play golf and to go hunting and fishing with his boys and with many of his friends. Steve served the Shelby County Community for the past 24 years as a deputy sheriff for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department. Steve touched so many people's lives and was such a positive influence on everyone he met. This was so heavily demonstrated by his long tenure of running youth sports organizations like the Memphis Travelers and Bartlett Panthers SYS where he always helped build young men out of boys by instilling morals and words of inspiration into all of them he came across and ever had the privilege of inspiring. His strength of character, dedication, and love of family and friends will be forever remembered. He was a wonderful and loving father to his two sons, their friends and to every child he coached. His smile could light up any room and his zest for life was infectious. So many of us are better human beings for having been blessed to have him in our lives. Steve is survived by his wife of 28 years, Penne and two sons: Kurtis 25 and Konner 20 of Bartlett, TN. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Bramlett and sister, Pam Godsey of Cordova, TN and by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and so very many friends. While our hearts are broken our memories of him are eternal and even in death he will forever be with us. Quite simply he was the very best and we will love and miss him forever. The family will receive friends at Northridge Woodhaven Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 7 from 6-8 p.m. Memorial services will be at Hope Presbyterian Church on Thursday, December 8 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Northridge Woodhaven Cemetery.
