Russell Nelson, 16, Kenmare, died Friday, Aug. 15, 2008, in a Stanley hospital from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Russell Robert Todd Nelson was born April 6, 1992, a son of Todd Nelson and Jessica (Russell) Dennis, in Escondido, Calif. He was raised in Kenmare until 1994, when he and his family moved to Hettinger. He attended school in Hettinger until 2000, when he and his family moved back to Kenmare. He attended school at Ramstad Junior High School in Minot during his seventh-grade year. He then attended eighth grade in Kenmare. He completed his sophomore year and was ready to start his junior year at Kenmare High School, where he was a member of the Kenmare/Bowbells Football Team, the Kenmare/Tioga Wrestling Team and the K-MLS-B Track and Field Team. He was also a member of the FFA and participated in the Science Olympiads.

Like most young men, Russell was a very competitive individual. He enjoyed fishing, especially in his Grandpa Russell's boat. Lately he had found a new love in girls, gaming, and his dad's old muscle car, the 1968 Olds. It was to be his first. Russell, in general, loved conversation. He was really becoming quite a handsome young man. At least that is what he thought in front of a mirror. Although his mother lived in New Mexico, he spent countless hours on the computer and cell phones competing in games with his mother. Russell loved any type of bug or creepy crawly snakes and lizards especially, and they didn't have to be ginormous either. He really enjoyed spending time with his Grammas, whether it was hocking up loogies or raiding the fridge. R.T. you will be missed but not forgotten. Love Mom and Dad
