Bob MacPherson died January 26, 2000 following a heart attack. He was 48 years old, and a long time resident of Tijeras. He was born September 1, 1952 to parents Robert Anthony and Margaret Smith MacPherson. The son of a naval officer, he was reared mostly in Corpus Christi, Texas and New Orleans. The family lived in Texas, New Orleans, California as well as stations abroad. His father was a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Thus, they had frequent visits there and enjoyed a cabin in the Pecos area. Bob attended the New Mexico Military Institute High School and the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.

He successfully owned and operated a wholesale business in Albuquerque. He enjoyed all things outdoors and was an avid skier and fisherman. He had a large community of caring friends who will miss him greatly. He was also survived by his sister, Penny; stepbrother, Rick Fowler, and stepsisters, Julie and Dea; cousins, Jan, Mary, Richard and Angus.

A gathering of friends and family in his memory was held at the University of New Mexico Alumni Chapel on February 11, 2000. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Way of Central New Mexico.
