Born Mary Pauline Buckner on Nov 6, 1913 in Mexia Texas, Pauline married Lester Clyde Dressel on October 9, 1934 in San Jose, California. Pauline and Les had two daughters, Norma Jayne, and Ruth Ann. Les passed away in Vallejo in 1969 at the age of 59. Pauline married George P Nevins, a dear family friend, on November 18, 1973. George was the father-in-law of Les's nephew Robert, which made for some interesting adjustments to the family tree; Pauline technically shifted her status from Aunt to Grandma with many of the grandkids!
Pauline had a career as a school secretary, much loved by the children and staff. She was a loving wife, mother and grandma, a member of the Presbyterian Church, and had a beautiful soprano voice and a great love of music, especially the hymns and anthems of the church. Husband George Nevins passed away on July 5th, 1987 and was laid to rest at Skyview Cemetery in Vallejo. Pauline continued for several years in their Pittsburg, CA home, and later moved to live with daughter Norma in Monterey, CA.
Pauline passed away in October of 2003 just prior to her 90th birthday; she was laid to rest at Skyview Cemetery in Vallejo, CA.
