Virginia was a victim of a terrible tragedy. Virginia along with 23 other classmates and adults was killed when their school bus was hit by a train on their way to school at Jordan High School.

Daughter of Leo Nelson and Lillie Johnson Nelson, born in Burley, Idaho on 23, March 1923. Moved to South Jordan, Utah in 1932.

It is said about Virginia that her main interest was public speaking. She was younger than her classmates, but even in her early school years she led them in school activities. She was enthusiastic about sports, and loved nothing better than a good time. She was also interested in the commercial field and excelled in typing. She was active in church organizations, she loved to share her stories and readings with them.
Virginia was always gentle and sympathetic, and her sweet personality on friends.
