American Singer. Ford, whose adopted name was Francis Guzzo, was famous for his song "Sea Cruise" which was a Top 20 hit in 1959. He studied singing and dancing as a boy and made his stage debut at age five in 1945. Ford performed on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour in New York City in 1952 and won many local, national and regional vocal competitions while still a child. He started playing piano and singing with the group "the Syncopators" during his high school years. After going on his own and having a regional hit in "Cheatin' Woman", Ford scored his biggest hit in "Sea Cruise" in 1959. After "Sea Cruise", he had such "follow-up" singles as "Danny Boy," "Alimony," and "I Wanna Be Your Man", but they were not as big as "Sea Cruise". Ford was drafted into the United States Army in 1962 and performed for troops in Korea, Vietnam, and the United States as a member of the Special Services. He also appeared as himself in the 1978 film "American Hot Wax". Ford, who was known as "the New Orleans Dynamo" continued to perform until his passing.
