Ellis M. Campbell
Ellis Montgomery Campbell of 11 Beechview Ave., Jamestown, died Tuesday (Dec. 4, 1990) in Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa., following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of Isabel Montgomery Campbell and the late George James Brinkman.
Campbell graduated from Westminster College in 1941. He was an accountant and assistant treasurer for Marlin-Rockwell. When TRW Bearing Corp. took over, he became the financial accounting manager until his retirement in 1961. He was a life member of the National Accountants Association, of which he was treasurer for several years.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Jamestown, where he was an ordained elder. He was secretary of the Jamestown Junior Chamber of Commerce and a member of the boards of the Chautauqua County Mental Health Association and American Heart Association.
Besides his mother of Heritage Village, surviving are his wife, Helen Nelson Campbell; two daughters: Ann Nelson Wighaman of Albuquerque, N.M. and Carol Montgomery Smith of Vancouver, Wash.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Frank Campbell.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the First Presbyterian Church, Jamestown. The Rev. George H. McConnel will officiate. Internment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials may be made to the National Heart Association or First Presbyterian Church.
