OBITUARY, Brookville [IN] Democrat, Thursday, May 28, 1936:
Mrs. Josephine Emsweller, 84, died at 5:15 p.m., Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lennie Davidson (Davison), south of Laurel. She had been in failing health for several years. Survivors, besides Mrs. Davidson, are a daughter, Mrs. Maggie Vail, of Clarksburg; and three sons, William Emsweller, of Indianapolis, Arthur of near Andersonville and Jesse of Blooming Grove. The husband, Marion Emsweller, died in 1898.
Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m., CST, Sunday at the Davidson residence, with the Rev. W. T. Crawley, of Falmouth and the Rev. C. R. Fitz, of Laurel, officiating. Burial was made in Stipps Hill cemetery.
