Sidney was the son of James and Amanda Rucker Baker. He made his living by working as a day laborer. Mr. Baker passed away from the effects of encelphalitis.

•Sidney Baker, 424 Corral street, died this morning...at the Good Samaritan hospital. The body was removed to the John T. Hawkins funeral home, 409 Patterson street. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Etta Barbee [sic Bybee], and an uncle, Silas Racker [sic Rucker], both in Winchester.
