Lalla Lee Laffitte Dalton DALTON Lalla Lee Laffitte Dalton passed away on Monday, Sept. 17, 2007. She was the daughter of Elizabeth and Tucker Laffitte. She was born in 1921 in Estill, S.C., and received a B.A. degree from Converse College in 1942. Mrs. Dalton was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Kinston, where she served as elder, deacon and president of the Women of the Church. She was a member of the Lenoir-Greene Counties Medical Auxiliary, the Lenoir Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America and the Reviewer' s Book Club. She served as trustee on the state board of the N.C. Symphony. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Horace Milton Dalton. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Tucker and Hynda Dalton of Easton, Md.; Betsy and Ed Emes of Washington, D.C.; and Lee and Bill Hanes of Winston-Salem; her brothers, Montague Laffitte, of Estill; Lucius Laffitte of Allendale, S.C.; and Tucker Laffitte of Columbia, S.C.; and her grandchildren, Ashley Wiltshire, Caroline Dalton, and Radley Emes of Washington, D.C.; Jennifer Argenti of New York, N.Y.; Charlotte Gerstenfeld of Dusseldorf, Germany; and Gordon Dalton of Roseland, Va. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at First Presbyterian Church in Kinston. A family graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery before the memorial service. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 2101 N. Heritage St., Kinston, NC 28501, or Arbor Acres Retirement Community, 1240 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Arrangements are by Salem Funeral Home, Winston-Salem.
