Mollie [Mary "Polly"] was the daughter of Aaron Paff and Mary Ann Reater/Ritter, and the granddaughter of Jacob Paff/Pfaff and Susan Stinger. Mollie had 10 siblings and they attended the Methodist Episcopal Church.

On December 31, 1878, she married Christopher Bair in Allen County, Indiana. The couple had 4 children: Williiam Harold Bair 1879 – 1940, Adam L. Bair 1882 - 1884, Francis Marion Bair 1884 – 1958, Minnie May Bair 1889 – 1970, Adam Bair.
