Larry "Shorty" Clark, age 52 of Ottumwa, Iowa, formerly of Numa, Iowa, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Ottumwa Regional Health center.

Born January 6, the son of Rex and Doris(Hayes)Clark, Larry lived most of his life at his childhood home in Numa. He was married to Teri McFatridge until 2007 and to this union two children were born, Gary Wayne and Larry Dean. Larry was a devoted father and some of his fondest memories were coaching Little League baseball and watching his boys wrestle. He was a strong advocate for Centerville wrestling, including Centerville Mat Club.

"Shorty" was employed in the Union Masonry for most of his life and constructed many of the large buildings and schools around Iowa, mostly in the Des Moines Metro area. He was currently working for Weitz Construction in Wever, Iowa at the OCI Iowa Fertilizer Plant.

Larry was engaged to be married to Christina Carnahan of Ottumwa. At the home they shared, he enjoyed raising chickens, ducks, guineas and geese...he was a poultry aficionado. Besides his love of poultry, Larry loved trail rides and watching Chris's daughter and son complete in Rodeos. Larry also enjoyed Sunday country drives with his fiancé, with no destination in mind.

Larry attended church at Faith Baptist in Ottumwa. Within the last few years, he developed a close relationship with Jesus Christ. Because of his salvation and the way he lived his life, Larry spread the seed of the Gospel to everyone around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Gary Clark; and many aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his two children, Gary(Amanda)Clark of Carroll, Iowa and Larry(Samantha)Clark of Centerville, Iowa and their children, Macie Clark and Harley Cox; fiancé, Christina Carnahan of Ottumwa, Iowa and her two children, James(Brittany)Carnahan of Ottumwa, Iowa and Stacey Carnahan(Andrew Woodard)of Ottumwa, Iowa, and four grandchildren, Isabelle, Augusta, Lilah and Cruise; three brothers, Rex Clark of Jerome, Iowa, Richard Clark of Red Oak, Iowa and Dan Clark of Centerville, Iowa; and a sister, Kitty Whicker of Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory in Centerville with Rev. Phil Griffith officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Lange Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Numa Cemetery. Larry's pallbearers are coworkers from the OCI plant in Burlington. A memorial has been established to the Centerville Mat Club and may be left or mailed to the Lange Funeral Home & Crematory, 1900 South 18th St, Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
