Norway - George R. "Bobby" Davis, 82, of 2358 Cope Road, Norway, died Friday, April 13, 2007, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, at Norway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Johnnie Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Norway Cemetery. Mr. Davis was born in Orangeburg, a son of the late Evy Lee Davis and Daisy Bonnette Davis. He was a retired pipe fitter from Daniels Construction, a graduate of Norway Willow High School, and attended the University of South Carolina. He was a member of Norway Baptist Church and the Norway Ruritan Club. Mr. Davis served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Betty W. Davis of the Calhoun Convalescent Center in St. Matthews; two daughters, Mrs. Marilynn D. Coutsos and husband, John of West Columbia, and Ms. Jane D. Settle of Charleston; one sister, Mrs. Jackie D. Vickers of Norway; one brother, Allison Davis of Byron, Ga.; two granddaughters, Legare and Rebecca Settle of Charleston. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home of Orangeburg.
