James Wesley Clapp 77, Indianapolis, passed away at his home Thursday, January 4, 2007. He had previously been a long time resident of Jeffersonville, IN.

He was born to Amsy and Etta (Helzer) Clapp, Sr. on February 22, 1929 in Indianapolis. He married Marie McClanahan on August 5, 1961 in Jeffersonville, IN.

He is survived by his loving wife; sons, James Scott (Gwen) Clapp of Albuquerque, NM, and Jeffrey Alan (Ellen) Clapp of Matthews, NC; daughter, Diana (Randy) Robertson of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Allyson and Joshua Robertson, Bryce and Bennett Clapp; and brother, Amsy Clapp Jr. of Johnsonville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Melvin Clapp. Jim retired from Indiana National Bank in 1991 after 43 years of service. He also was employed by Churchill Downs for over 43 years before moving to Indianapolis five years ago. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, and a former member of Wall Street United Methodist Church, Jeffersonville. He loved to work in his flower and rose gardens.
