Avard William Booth, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, age 75, passed away Sunday, March 17, 1996, complication of a brain aneurysm.

Born July 30, 1920, in St. Charles Idaho, to Louis Hyrum and Phoebe Price Booth. Graduate of West High and U of U, one year post-graduate study in Industrial Engineering. Served a three year LDS Mission, Hawaii; Veteran U.S. Army Air Corps.Married Carol Gwen Porter July 2, 1948; later divorced. Married Carol Marshall March 22, 1980. Later solemnized in Jordan River Temple. Was Executive Director of the Utah Mechanical Contractors Assoc., Utah Heating/Air Conditioning Contractors Assoc., Utah Automotive Trades, Printing Industries of Utah. Member Utah Subcontractors Council and Administrator, Mechanical Insulation Bid Depository, Utah Pipe Trades Welfare Trust Fund. President of the Utahmo and Utah Pipe Trades Credit Unions.

Grand V.P., Delta Phi National Honorary Fraternity; Chairman, John A. Widstoe Memorial Foundation; President, Hawaiian Missionary Society; Chairman, Western States Mechanical Conference, Utah State Apprenticeship Council; member, Construction Advisory Board; Western Regional Representative of the American Society of Association Executives.

At the time of his death, he was representing the Utah Heating & Air Conditioning Contractors, and was a substitute seminary teacher. He was also Treasurer of West High Alumni Committee and on the Delta Phi Scholarship Committee.

High Priest, Little Cottonwood 20th Ward. Served in various church capacities. Served as Chaplain of the Utah State Legislature. Was a seminary teacher for 22 years.

He was an avid traveler, having conducted tours throughout the world. His love and compassion for his fellowman is a testament to the wide circle of friends he leaves behind.

He touched the lives of many and will not be forgotten.

Survived by his wife, and children, William Chadwick (Corby) Booth, Karen Chamberlain; also Michael Koning, Robyn Koning, Karen (Mark) Manning, Carolyn (Drew) Egan, Cindy (Scott) Ford; sisters, Leola Cutler, Stella Ensign. 21 grandchildren. Preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Louis Booth, and two sisters, Christina Gunnerson and Rhea Robinson.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 22, 1996 at the Little Cottonwood 20th Ward Chapel, 6350 South Rodeo Lane (1605 East). Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Dr., and at the ward Friday 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
