Douds -- Mary S. Rickert, 87, of rural Douds died the evening of Aug. 26 at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
She was born Sept. 25, 1892, in Mahaska County to William and Ellen Moore Funk. She married J. Howard Rickert Dec. 24, 1915, at Oskaloosa. They farmed at Eddyville and near Cedar until moving to their present farm southwest of Douds in 1941. She was a member of the Kirkville Methodist Church. She lived in Schuyler County Nursing Home at Queen City, Mo. for one and one-half years.
Survivors; her husband; a son Roy of Douds; a daughter, Frances E. Brown of Lancaster, Mo.; eight grandchildren, three step—grandchildren, 18 great-grand children and one great—great— granddaughter.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, the Revs. Helen Brown and L. C. Brown officiating. Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Ottumwa.
