Services were held for Mr. Harold Edward Reed, 75, of Riderville Community at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 1991 at Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage. The Reverende Hugh Stultz officiated. Masonic graveside services followed at Restland Memorial Park near Riderville under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Reed died Saturday morning, Jan. 26 at his residence of natural causes.

Reed was born Dec. 29, 1915 in Randlett, Okla. He was the son of Edward Earl and Kathryne Huey Morgan Reed. He was owner of a service station in Carthage for many years. He was a truck driver for the Texaco Bulk Plant in Carthage before retirement. Reed was a member of the Pisgah Methodist Church. He had lived in Panola County for 55 years moving here from Wright City, Texas. He was a retired Carthage Volunteer Fireman. Reed was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #521 A.F. & A.M., Waco Scottish Rite Bodies, Sharon Temple Shrine and the Carthage Chapter of the Order of The Eastern Star, #747.

Reed is survived by one daughter, Miss Geraldine Reed of Riderville Community; one sister, Mrs. Kathryne Watson of Riderville Community; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were nephews.
