Moses Hemminger's Obit:
Moses Hemminger of Nappanee formerly of near Bremen
One of the oldest residents of this vicinity, died
Sunday at the age of 93-yrs 2days. He had suffered a
paralytic stroke Nov. 1 which combined with the fralties
of his advanced age causing his death. He was in good
health previous to his last sickness, his mental facilities
being remarkably well preserved for one of his age.
Moses Hemminger was born Stark Co, Ohio Nov.7, 1823.
He came to this vicinity 67yrs ago, where he lived on a
farm near Bremen until 1893, when he moved to Nappanee,
where he has resided ever since. At the time of his death
he was making his home with his daughter Mrs. Caroline
Rector. On Nov. 7, 1854 he was united in marriage with
Caroline C. Best. To them were born 10 Children, 3 Sons,
7 Daughters. Three sons, & two of the daughters preceded
him in death. He is survived by the Wife & 5 daughters.
Mrs. Caroline Rector of Nappanee, Mrs. Anna Kauffman of
Bremen, Mrs. Lodiska Burkett of Bowers Ontario,
Mrs. Ella Nora Manges of Bremen, Mrs. Luctria Zence of
Nappanee. There are also 25 G.Children, 22 GGrandchildren.
And a number of less near relatives.
Mr. Hemminger was a member of Church of the Brethern.
Funeral Services were held Nappanee yesterday morning.
Followed by burial Bremen Cemetary.
