Robert W. Brubaker, 89, Presbyterian Home at Hollidaysburg, died Friday morning at the home.
He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of Blair E. and Ruth E. (Miller) Brubaker. He married Helen Louise Delozier June 1, 1948, in Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his wife; six nephews; two nieces; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene F.
Mr. Brubaker was a life member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg.
He retired from Conrail as a car repairman.
Mr. Brubaker was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School.
He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division in Okinawa in the Pacific Theater as a first sergeant. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal with four Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.
Robert loved golf and enjoyed gardening.
Friends will be received from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg (www.pssfh.
com). A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home by the Rev. Dr. D.L. Brinton Shafer and Pastor Roger K. Myers. Interment at Alto Reste Park Cemetery.
