Vassar Giles Dacus, 62, of 1498 Canal St., died this morning at King's Daughters Hospital after an illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 Saturday from the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville with Rev. William H. Todd, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Boon-Wells Funeral Home of Greenville has charge. A native of Greenwood, Mr. Dacus moved to Greenville in the late 1940s. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church and a long-time Sunday school teacher. At the time of his death, Mr. Dacus was bookkeeper for Queen City Furniture.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Lee Herring Dacus of Greenville; a brother, Chester Wayne Dacus of Tupelo; five sisters, Mrs. J. D. Shannon of Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. T. L. Oubre of Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. C. D. Ousley of Jackson, Tenn.; Mrs. E. V. Wynn, Jr., and Mrs. J. G. Mullins, both of Birmingham, Ala.
