Philadelphia Inquirer, The (PA) - January 6, 1983 Deceased Name: ELISA CIRIACO DILULLO, 89 Elisa Ciriaco DiLullo, 89, a Philadelphia restaurateur, died Tuesday at North Penn Hospital in Lansdale. A former resident of Ambler, Miami Beach and Philadelphia, she moved to Lansdale in the late 1960s.
Mrs. DiLullo, the widow of Nicola DiLullo, operated restaurants in Philadelphia, Atlantic City and in Florida for nearly half a century.
The DiLullo family restaurants were located in Center City, on Chelten Avenue in Germantown and, more recently, on Oxford Avenue in Fox Chase. She gave the Center City restaurant, located at 11th and Market Streets, her attention for 46 years, retiring in 1968.
She also operated the DiLullo Restaurant in Pompano Beach, Fla.
Born in Buonanotte, Italy, Mrs. DiLullo grew up in what she called the proper setting - surrounded by family, good music and fine food. Trained as an operatic soprano, she sang with the Miami opera and worked with church choirs throughout her life.
A member of St. Stanislaus Parish in Lansdale, she sang as the lead soprano in its choir until she was disabled by illness in November. She was active in the St. Stanislaus Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by a daughter, Rosina Gore, and three grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Friday at the Simcox- McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Church of St. Stanislaus, Main Street and Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale.
Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
