Mary Ruth Kelsay Staton, 84, of Ten Mile, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at her home.

She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents, Benjamin and Nettie Clark Kelsay; her husband, Gene Staton; brother, Elbert Kelsay; grandson, Michael; and son, Leroy.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Joey Hawn of Kingston; special nephew and niece, Cleon and Bobbie Kelsay of Kingston; granddaughter, Brenda Fuson of Harriman; grandson, James Hawn of Ten Mile; great-grandchildren, Todd Hawn, LaShae Hawn and Allston Hawn, all of Petros, and John King and Ronnie Bishop, both of Harriman; great-nephew, Trenton Kelsay of Ten Mile; lifetime special friends, Wanda Branson, Ruth Johnson, Ruth Galyon, Bea Yates, Eva Yates and Beck Burnum; special friends, Kim Lessick, Diane Leffew and Dot Townsend.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 1, in the chapel, with the Rev. Ted Clower, the Rev. Wayne Townsend, the Rev. George Maddox and the Rev. Trenton Kelsay officiating. Graveside service and burial will be at Kelsay Cemetery.
