Christian Graffius, a respected citizen, died at his home 2001 Union avenue, at 2.55 o'clock yesterday afternoon, December 22, 1898, of a complication of diseases.

Deceased was born near Duncansville, August 15, 1845. In early life he entered the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad company as brakeman, though for the past twenty years he has been employed as flagman on the middle division. Two years ago he was compelled to retire from active work.

January 18, 1871, he married Miss Katharine Isett at Duncansville. She, with these five children, survives: William J., Junie, Samuel C., James and Charles T. His mother, Mrs.Nancy Ann Graffius, and two sisters, Mrs. Scott Bennett, of Altoona,and Mrs. Jacob Renner, of Duncansville, are also yet living.

Funeral services will be held at the house at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, in charge of Rev. O. C. Roth.
Interment in Carson Valley cemetery.

1900 Census Allegheny Twp. Blair Co: Nancy A. Graffius age 82, had 8 children and 2 are living.
