Wayne Douglas "Doug" Crawford, Jr., age 41, of Chester, VA, died on Sunday, September 10, 2006. He was born in Hopewell, VA, the son of Jeanie Crawford of Chester, and the late Wayne D. Crawford, Sr. He was the owner and operator of "White Lightning", a charter boat that he currently operated out of Hatteras Landing in Hatteras, N.C. Doug loved riding his Harley Davidson with friends, and was a true outdoorsman and hunter. He was also an elevator technician for 20 years with the Local 51 Union, and a proud mason and member of Dupont Lodge # 289 in Hopewell since 1987. He is survived by a loving wife, Angela Fable Crawford; a sister, Lori Crawford Edwards and husband Mason of Chester; grandmother, Myrtle Ingram of Bakersville, N.C.; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Merrily Fable; three nieces, Jordan & Macy Edwards, and Madalyn Eads; one nephew, Austin Eads; sisters-in-law, Tammy Eads and husband Everett, and Kelly Pettaway and husband Bonz, all of Chester; and many friends. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Tuesday, September 12th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Graveside funeral services will follow on Wednesday, at 2:30 p.m. in Sunset Memorial Park of Chester.
