"K-Swift" a.k.a the "Club Queen K-Swift" was one of best known purveyors of home-grown music called "Baltimore Club," a unique concoction of house music and hip-hop that recently garnered critical acclaim and popularity on the international club scene. Several national publications — including the defunct Spin magazine — featured Swift prominently, extolling her gifts as a skilled technician on the turntables as well an energetic presence who could move the dance floor.

Born Khia Edgerton on October 19th 1980, she was raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Growing up, she had many influences to help drive her into what some might say is a successful music career and others her destiny. Her influences were Cocoa Channel and Jazzy Joyce along with her father who had an immense passion for music. Khia began to DJ at the age of 11. 14 years later, she's was not only Baltimore's only female DJ, but she was also the only female Mix Show Coordinator in the United States. Her desires to become a popular professional DJ were met with numerous obstacles. She received a lot of skepticism from males in the industry however she never let that discourage her. Khia's formula for overcoming adversity was to stay true to herself and stay focused. As a result, the long hours she spent working to enhance her DJ skills and career paid off. She was the proud owner of her own Graphics Company, and Production and Management Company (Club Queen Entertainment), while simultaneously selling her own mix Cd's on her website and in stores across the United States.

On the night of July 20th, Khia was giving a pool party at her home when she injured herself in her pool. Friends pulled her out, but CPR wasn't administered until an ambulance arrived. The Baltimore medical examiner is ruled her death an accident. An autopsy showed that Khia's neck was broken when she hit her head while diving into the water during her backyard party. Outside of her fans' personal loss, K-Swift's death represents a major loss for the segment of the music industry she helped pioneer.Daughter of Juanita Davis and Joseph Edgerton, Jr
