Former Deputy Harrison Dies Monday in Hospital
Wright Harrison, 69, of rural Saint Lous, passed away Monday morning at the Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma. He had been hospitalized four days but had been in ill health for the last two years.
Mr. Harrison was born in Bethany Township June 19,1895, the son of Angeline and Thomas Harrison. On August 20, 1917, he was married to Gertrude Whitney of Porter Township, Midland County.
Mr. Harrison spent 12 years with the Gratiot County Sheriff Department and for 17 years was an agent for the State Farm Insurance Company. He retired last July due ot poor health. He was a member of the Saint Louis F. and A.M. Lodge, the Royal Arch Masons No. 87; the Order of the Eastern Star and the First Methodist Church of Saint Louis.
Surviving are his wife, Gertrude; four daughters, Mrs. John Lewis of Sacramento, California; Mrs. Clifford Carter of Newark, Ohio; Mrs. William Mascaro of Detroit; Mrs. Kenneth R. Luneack of Saint Lous, 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 24, at 1:30 p.m. from the First Methodist Church in Saint Louis. The Rev. William DesAutel of Saint Louis will officiate. Interment will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Saint Louis. The Saint Louis Masonic Lodge will conduct services at the Carter Funeral Home Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m.
