With much pride and honor, we pay tribute to the service that Carey rendered on behalf of our country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
On October 10, 1960, Carey's life was wonderfully changed when he took that walk down the aisle with his bride in hand. Together, he and Penelope shared a devoted and loving 48 years as husband & wife.
He worked for many years with a division of the Ford Motor Company, which eventually became Dupont. After years of dedicated employment, Carey retired in 1994 to pursue some of the enjoyment of "life after work."
Those pleasures took on many forms, both family and sports oriented.
He was an avid tennis player who could "serve up" quite the challenge on the court. Another sporting pastime he so enjoyed was fishing. In their trips up north to the family's cottage, Carey would often be found down at a favorite fishing spot chasing the "Big One."
He also had an adventurer's spirit and loved traveling with family & friends. He soaked up the scenery and memories that enveloped each road trip and vacation, one of his favorites being the vacations to Florida.
Carey was a loving and devoted family man and the times spent with them were always precious & treasured.
Beloved husband of Penelope "Penny."
Dear father of Carey, Randy, Susan (Bill) McMahan, and Debi Flanagan.
Brother of JoAnn Jaskula.
Brother-in-law of Tim & Leonora Kohut.
Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
In loving memory of Carey, a memorial service will be held at a future date, to be determined.
Donations appreciated to the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative, 17 Bethesda Dr., Ossining NY.
