Born January 23, 1871 in Marlin. Had resided at Carthage only a few years. Died of injuries sustained when hit by freight train near the ice plant when he was crossing the track; severed one leg. Services were at Carthage, but burial was in Marlin Cemetery. Survived by spouse; sons Wayland and Frank Sanders; daughters, Mrs. R.F. Underwood, and Mrs. R.C. Myrick.
