Eugene Hickman was born on a farm at the head of Bear Creek, 3 mi W of Brumley, MO.

He was educated in the Miller Co. public schools, graduating from Richland High School in Richland, Pulaski Co, MO.

Feb. 14, 1908 he married Maud Dawson. They had 2 children, Ruth Pauline & Flavel B. Hickman.

In 1917 the family was in Kansas City, MO. Maud ran a boarding house there. Eugene attended Barnes Medical College and worked as a street conductor for Kansas City Railways in Kansas City, MO.

After Eugene graduated, they moved to Elmyra, AR where he practiced medicine for more than 20 years.

Eugene got leukemia while in Elmyra. About 6 months before he died, they moved to Eugene, MO.
