Ruth was born the daughter of Ervin Ward and Grace Gallagher Ward. Ruth passed on at the Victorian Villa, where she has resided since March of this year.
She attended schools in Winthrop and married Bernard R. Buck on July 4, 1941.
She worked in the Lewiston area and after moving to Weld worked in S.W. Hilton's Factory. She was well-know in Weld as the "Flower Lady," spending hours picking wildflowers and sharing them with others. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, writing letters and telling stories.
She was active in Weld Post 203, American Legion Auxiliary for 40 years, belonged to the Webb Lake Association and Weld Historical Society. While living at the Victorian Villa, she enjoyed helping to set the tables, folding clothes, drawing pictures and writing letters. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by two grandsons and wives, Kevin and Holly Cochran of Virginia Beach, Va. and Keith and Christine Cochran of South Carthage; a granddaughter and husband, Karen and David Eaton of Lisbon Falls; great-granddaughters and husband, Alycia and Brandon Beaulieu of Lisbon Falls and Lila Cochran and fiancÚ, Brain Haynes of Weld; great-grandsons, Andrew Cochran of Virginia Beach, Va. and Josh, Corey, Troy and Jack Cochran of South Carthage; step-great-grandchildren, Kassidy Robichaud of South Carthage, Matt Eaton of Auburn and David Eaton of California; special friends, Henry, Carol and Chris Cochran of Weld; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
She was predeceased by her husband in 2005; a daughter, Lila; her parents; a brother, Ervin; and sisters, Ermalleen, Louise, Tina, Dorothy and Susie.
